One of the most significant messaging   apps in the world, WhatsApp has submitted a new version 2.18.57 on the beta program of Google play. According to a report from an online source, WhatsApp’s updated terms and conditions have leaked, and the source got a hold of them.

The alleged new terms of services show that the parent company Facebook will have a data-share with WhatsApp. The latest developed business app, ‘WhatsApp for business’ will as well enable its users to block businesses that don’t interested them, this is according to the leaked terms and conditions.

The company failed to keep the new terms of services a secret hence the leakage. WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s update tracker came across the newly updated terms and services of WhatsApp on the beta program. WABetaInfo later shared the complete information on its platform revealing how WhatsApp will share users’ information with Facebook.

However, unless the user decides to show the information they have shared including personal contacts, it will not display on Facebook. Also, the    terms reaffirm that users can easily share the information across the three messaging platforms; that is Facebook to WhatsApp to Instagram and vice versa.

Additionally, the company will join forces with other producers under Facebook to promote and extend services to users of those platforms.

Apart from the above claims, other reports also show that the leaked terms of services give an idea that WhatsApp is developing another feature. The feature will shorten the time businesses take to appear in the app.  Also, the feature will enable WhatsApp to work in partnership with other Facebook companies to provide its users with ads and sponsored content from the said businesses.

What Could Be The Reason For WhatsApp To Share Users’ Data?

The leaked terms and condition show that WhatsApp will share personal information of its users for online security purposes. The company believes that sharing of data will help reduce cases like hate speech and abusive content from other users.
